What are the assessment criteria for research proposals?

Research proposals will need to address the specific issue advertised in one of the three research themes (value chains, labour markets, and public private partnerships in infrastructure). Proposals will need to demonstrate:

  • How the specific constraint or market failures identified in the call for proposals is going to be addressed;
  • A degree of innovation and originality in either approach and / or how the research findings will be disseminated / used;
  • How the action part of the research of the research will be used to support policy change;
  • Technical suitability of proposed approach and methodology;
  • The quality of the proposed team in terms of the right mix of necessary skills, experience and qualifications to undertake the work; and
  • The cost effectiveness of the proposed research
