M4P Research is typically carried out by Vietnamese research teams. Please watch this space for infomation on bidding opportunities.

As of April 19, 2007, the status of M4P tenders for local research is as follows:

  • Case studies of Public-Private Arrangements for infrastructure service delivery (yet to be tendered)
  • Case Studies of Business Models that engage with the “Base of the Pyramid” (yet to be tendered)
  • Provincial level market assessments
  • The testing of a value chain handbook
  • Labour Markets (closed on April 07 2006)
  • Case Studies of Contract Farming within value chains (closed, winner selected from 7 applicants)
  • Collective action to enhance the bargaining power of the poor within value chains (closed, winner selected from 4 applicants)

Bidding result: Rural labour markets and Migration
Evaluation of the 04 research proposals for the study “Rural labour markets and migration in Vietnam” received by the deadline of 7 April 2006 has now been completed. The research team from the Central Institute of Economic Management (CIEM), the Centre for Analysis and Forecast (CAF) and the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development (IPSARD) is ranked first.

Bidding Opportunity: Research on Rural Labour Markets and Migration
Deadline: 17:00 Friday 07 April 2006

The proposed research is expected to contribute to an increased understanding of the working of rural labour markets in Vietnam.  The research team will examine the links between rural labour markets and migration.  They will provide new ideas for policy options to maximize the benefits from migration for rural labour markets, development and poverty alleviation.
