Contracts are an important mechanism to coordinate production, distribution, and retail arrangements between different players in the value chain . As the agriculture sector in Viet Nam modernizes and commercializes, value chains for agricultural products will become increasingly important, and as a part of this process, contracts will also become a more important and common feature of the agriculture sector in Viet Nam.
In January 2005, the M4P1 Project and An Giang University jointly supported a workshop in An Giang Province to share experiences and discuss Contract Farming in Viet Nam. The workshop brought together many interested parties and stakeholders throughout the country to share experiences and ideas related to contract farming and discuss ways to further strengthen the rapidly developing contract farming system in Viet Nam.
This volume contains a number of the presentations and a summary of the group discussions undertaken at the workshop. The book now can be downloaded below: English | Vietnamese (1.36MB)
